Picnic Day and AR 2

Hi,

How are you all after a full day of activities? Feeling tired - especially guys eh? I don't even have the strength to apply shampoo on my head. But today was a great time for me =).

Well, let me share with you all my thoughts about today.

Oh yes, I was scared when I saw the sky this morning. I'm sure you were too. It was windy, and getting darker. It was going to rain. I was scared that our picnic would turn into a real disaster. I thought I didn't pray enough. And I thought maybe I didn't plan well enough.

But in my heart, I just told myself that, being the leader of the group, should I give myself a chance to show disappointment and sadness? No way, I just kept on reminding myself to be calm, to be joyful, and to be faithful, all the time.

I had to make sure that everybody was there on time. The food was ready. Flysheet, songbooks, ball and guitar were prepared. Everything and everyone's there and ready to go. I just couldn't care much, I left it all to God alone.

And when we were on our way there, it started to rain, and it got heavier all the way. I started to give up, fed up... Miraculously, I learned a lot today. Have you all noticed on the right side of the junction before we turn into the road that leads to the park? There's a notice board with written words, "There is hope". It instantly reminded me of the way Jesus calmed the storm. If God can calm the storm, how about a small tiny little rain? It pushed me all the more to trust God fully.

There's always hope.

Now I do not know how God works in this kinda situation. We never understand. We never know, until and unless we do our PDL. But there's always hope. I did enjoy the time from 10-11am where all of us stayed under the building for an hour just to sing songs, introduce ourselves, play some stupid games like the eagle and chickies. And I thanked God for that, because I believe, He just wanted us to be together as a family, never mind what group. He just wanted us to enjoy singing and praising him through old songs, simple music, and some laughter.

Did you find it special when we stood under the heavy rain eating sandwiches? Wow. I would name it as - limited edition.

The rain stopped, and we took pictures (especially girls, you know la), and guys (you can guess what we did, terutamanya when I'm in), football! Oh yes, I love it. Kane prepared for us nice spaghetti as well. Isn't it nice?

Yes, that's what God wants.

And did you enjoy every single moment of the picnic? Well, that's for you to answer.

To cut my sharing short, let me jump into the Amazing Race. I heard from my sister about your part in knowledge and skill. I'm truly touched by it. In skill, Uriah started as the weakest design that can only hold up to 10+ beads. But they never gave up and kept on trying new designs, (but of course with some smart brains too), they finally came out with a perfect elongated bottle thing that can hold up to 90+ beads. Lovely stuff.

How about knowledge? I just heard from her that every question was never a problem to them. Again, smart brains eh. Just that the joker (dice) ruined your chance. But it's okay..

And to the physical side, I tell you, they were robots. Real robots. We actually deserved to win. I shall not reveal much of the controversial matters but all these made all the U-guys lagi robot. I salute them lo.

It's okay to lose, but most importantly is... win. That's what i always mention, right?

Similarly, it's okay to lose the 1st place, or even 2nd place, but most importantly, we win their hearts.

Cyrus,
the commander of Group Uriah
& your brother.

Beautiful And Brainy

Beautiful but no brain:

Remember the story I've told you all about a beauty who went into the library and ordered a burger? And what happened after that? It is a typical example of a beauty with no brain.

Now, in this group, there are a lot of beauties... But I don't think you will wanna be the no-brain type, right?

So, tonight! Grab your Bible and study the first 25 chapters of the Book of Genesis. test yourself and prove to me that you are smart, intelligent, hard-working and most importantly, beautiful...

Trust me.

Here is the perfect example of a beauty with brain:

Now everyone can read =).

Go Forth

"I believe one reason God allows us to experience hard things
in our lives is so that we can become the warriors God wants us to become.
God wants people of integrity who are tough, tested, confident, strong
and courageous. He wants battle-worn soldiers who know what it's like to
be in the trenches and are not afraid of a challenge. Allowing battles and
difficulties to come into our lives ensures a training ground to grow
the kind of troops God is looking for to change the world."

Let's Form A Line!

A line is made up by many dots.
And with many dots, hence the line.

A line;
strong and unbreakable.

Let's show them our strength this Saturday!
A line, thick or thin may it be;
let no one pass us by.

Don't be left out, dots.
Come join the line! =)

Foreword from the Commander

Photobucket

Hi, this is to all those that God has specially chosen to be in this same group.

I believe everybody is very very excited about this red and yellow group. Well, so am I!

When I first saw the names of the leaders and members, I can see a bunch of not winners, but fighters, tough fighters. (If you don't believe me, look at our strength last Saturday.)

That's what 'Uriah' is all about. Uriah is a man that we must all look up to. He is one of King David's 37 mighty men. He is such a loyal, obedient and brave man. And this is the thing we would like to have for this group's image - a frontliner. We are the first to try, to fight, to die. If someone wanna get past, first overcome us. For more of Uriah's story, read about it in 2 Samuel.

Dear all, we must be like the frontliners, holding the line and be united. We defend the line, we attack the opponent, we protect each other.

If you want this group to excel, don't work for me, but for God, for this group. Therefore I gather you all today, to give God your commitment, your heart, and your courage to fight and to push this group forward.

Finally, before we kickstart another whole new year together, let's hold hands and hearts to pray hard for this group.

But for tonight's caroling, I want all of you to enjoy and remember Christ's birth!

Uu, hah! Uu, hah! Uu, hah!
Uriah!!!

Again, the most yao yeng commander,
you know who la..
